I Discerned among the Youths
We live in a most percarious age; one in which a person can take a lie, package it, place it on the internet and it travels around the world in seconds infecting anyone in it's path. With over six billion people on earth, the scope of falsehoods and delusions is rampant. I remember as a kid back in the 1970's thinking "there's so many denominations; how can anyone know which one is right?" This sense of discouragment is magnified a thousand times today and it helps to explain the upswing in lawlessness, occultism, and every form of evil that one can imagine. Islam is conquering Europe one disgruntled youth at a time as the nations on that continent have pushed God out of their conscience. When a nation turns its back on God; the one who can either establish or throw down a nation at will, you can be certain that the devil will have a counterfeit waiting to fill the void. Everywhere you look, "new age thinking" is taking hold as the world is being prepared to receive the man of sin. Even many churches teach new age methods and the undiscerning congregation eats it up. David J Meyer made an interesting observation in his October letter. (see the link in the previous post) He stated that when a person gets away from a steady prayer life and bible study, the first thing to go is discernment. This discernment deficiency will set in completly unnoticed by the individual who has unwittingly allowed other issues to eat away at quality time spent with the Lord. It's one of the oldest tricks of the enemy as he works to neutralize your relationship with the Holy One of Israel. Hebrews 5:14 reads "But strong meat belongeth to them that are full of age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." In other words "use it or lose it." I've stated it before but here it is again "Don't place a man between you and God." Try the spirits to see if they be of God. Search the scriptures daily and pray continuously. Jesus told us "Take heed that no man deceive you" because he knew how rough things were going to be in this age. Lies are packaged and made to look like truth and with a generation so removed from biblical teaching, it's a recipe for calamity. And a calamity it will indeed be when you lose your footing. As the world is ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, christians have a firm foundaton that has passed the test of time, because it is timeless. The sweet Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth and bring all things to our rememberance; always lining up with the word of God. The pitfalls are everywhere; even in the churches. They appeal to the flesh and make perfectly good sense if you're not grounded in the word of God. So while you've probably heard it a thousand times, let me repeat it again "pray without ceasing and stay in the word of God.
